What is Poverty?
Definition: Poverty(Noun) is the deprivation of food, shelter, money and clothing that occurs when people cannot satisfy their basic needs.
Synonyms-abjection, aridity, bankruptcy, barrenness, beggary, dearth, debt, deficiency, deficit, depletion, destitution, exiguity, famine, impecuniousness, impoverishment, indigence, insolvency, insufficiency, lack, meagerness, necessitous, necessity, pass.
Antonyms- Riches, wealth,plenty.

  • What surprised you? 
  1. I saw poverty around Downtown Los Angles. There are a lot of homeless people living there. Most of then come out at night.
  2. I have notice that Ive seen more and more Latinos becoming homeless people and are loosing there houses. Blacks were the main people in Poverty. Whites are also in poverty. 
  3. The thing that surprised me is that a lot of Mexicans are dropping out of school or not getting jobs because in this economy you need papers to get jobs, and a lot of Mexicans that went to school all grades and graduated college and high school but don't get jobs and they end up living in the streets.
